Winning the net is only useful if you can keep a balanced attacking position once you get there. Standing too close to the tape can make fast balls difficult to react to, while standing too far back gives away attacking pressure.
The aim is to stay connected with your partner at a sensible distance from the net and remain ready for the next ball.
What to do
After each volley, recover rather than freezing where you made contact. Keep your racket ready and adjust your position with your partner so the pair continues to protect the important spaces.
If one player moves significantly and the other does not react, gaps appear. Holding the net is therefore a pair movement skill as much as a volleying skill.
Why it works
Good net position gives you enough space to react while still allowing you to attack short balls and volleys.
Stay connected, avoid crowding the tape and recover after every shot.
